:Nominator's rationale: Actually, there's nothing to merge since all articles in the smaller categories are already in :Category:Persecution of Muhajirs. It's also important to note that the Muhajir are by definition in Pakistan so the phrase "Anti-Muhajir violence in Pakistan" is a pleonasm, much like "Anti-African-American violence in the United States" would be. I'd originally opined that all 3 should go to :Category:Persecution of Muhajir people to match parent :Category:Muhajir people and sibling :Category:Persecution of Hazara people. Unfortunately, :Category:Persecution of Muhajirs was not tagged, so that was not an option. All of the content has been re-categorized, so just delete both, and I'll try for the rename later.

• Keep Polynesian categories per WP:OCEGRS. Polynesian diasporic involvement in global sports is a well-defined topic which can easily support a full-length article. :*You really should read articles before hastily citing them. {{tq|[B]ig problems loom over a system that treats these men as little more than trafficked commodities.}} White saviour {{tq|plantation managers and Mormon elders nurtured future generations of football stars.}} Apparently, these authors view work in the cane fields to be nurturing, and hopefully will have an opportunity to personally experience it.{{sarcasm}} Future generations became Hawaiʻian Americans. WP:COP-HERITAGE Great-grandchildren are never of "descent". We don't seem to have a :Category:Sportspeople of Māori descent either, because they are already New Zealand citizens. It is sad that some Kiwis want to "other" the minority Māori, and note that they dominate football there ("{{tq|now looks like high-edge blackbirding}}"). But there's no good reason to do that in our category structure. Note, this is not discussing deleting :Category:Sportspeople of Samoan descent or :Category:Sportspeople of Tongan descent.

• Delete per the precedent of previous discussions. Regional/continental intersections at that level are a bad idea, and likely to be used only as a privacy for race. That is also true of the Polynesian descent categories. If someone is from Polynesia (e.g. Tokelau) and moved to Australia, they deserve a double inclusion in Tokelauan sportspeople and Australian sportspeople (or a sport-specific child category) and not a descent category. If they are not Tokelauan themselves but their ancestors are in a way that is defining for them according to reliable sources, a double inclusion in Australian sportspeople and Australian people of Tokelauan descent is sufficient to convey the notion. :Nominator's rationale: WP:SMALLCATs for just two or three hotels each on an overly granular geographic distinction. {{cl|Hotels in Ontario}} has subcategories for its two largest metropolitan cities (i.e. Toronto and Ottawa), but does not otherwise have a comprehensive scheme of subcategorizing all of its hotels by individual county or district -- and with Toronto and Ottawa already chunked out as it is, there are only 20 articles left in the parent category and thus subcatting them all down to the county or district level would not aid navigation.
Note that the merge targets are slightly different: Muskoka only needs upmerging to the Muskoka buildings and structures category as its three articles are all already double-catted in {{cl|Hotels in Ontario}} alongside this, while Waterloo only needs upmerging to the province-level category as its two entries are already in their appropriate "buildings and structures in city" parent and don't need the county-level category next to that.
It simply does not aid navigation to obsessively subcategorize everything down to highly granularized categories of just two or three articles per county. Bearcat (talk) 20:59, 24 February 2023 (UTC)

• Delete - the creator's stated definition, "states that were established by pirates", is much too broad for the narrow definition of republic. It seems to me that the Republic of Salé is the only article added which was actually organized as a republic; most are simple dictatorships with no functioning government at all, and some like Conch Republic also have nothing to do with piracy. If it were :Category:Pirate havens then maybe we'd be on to something, but that too would be a duplicate of the proposed target. The category has been emptied, anyway. • Delete It seems to be riffing on Republic of Pirates, but that description as a "republic" does not extend to every locale that has experienced or is a haven for piracy.
