::That they are allowed doesn't mean that they are useful when most in the region concern Nordic countries. These are the five articles currently in the category:

• Nordic Championships (badminton) – Nordic championship, for instance held in Helsinki in 1973 ([https://worldbadminton.com/museum/publications/WorldBadminton/documents/n12_197312.pdf])
• Nordic Cup (football) – Teams from Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden
• Royal League – Scandinavia (in smaller sense) only
• Scandinavian Touring Car Championship – series based in Sweden with occasionally additional events in Denmark, Norway and Finland (0–2 per year). More than 80 percent of teams and stages in Sweden during a brief look.
• Speedway Grand Prix of Scandinavia – International grand prix on the Speedway Grand Prix series always held in Sweden (WP:SHAREDNAME); already in category grandchild :Category:Speedway competitions in Sweden.

::There is no reason to have this category tree with only one article (RL) being specifically about Scandinavia. ::It, and the two following nominations, refers to the arrondissements in the article Arrondissements of the Seine-Maritime department, and not only the cities themselves – a larger area than the category and eponymous article refer to. It would be more cohesive to rename it (and probably all other arrondissements) to :Category:Arrondissement of Rouen geography stubs et cetera after the articles (Arrondissement of Rouen) and remove the three from :Category:Rouen, :Category:Le Havre, :Category:Dieppe (these are the only three, at least in Normandy, that are put into the city category). :My reasoning: Considering the fact that the Costume drama and Period piece pages both redirect back to the Historical drama article, I'm not sure why we have all these other separate categories for these synonymous terms. Most of the categories I listed above are just completely redundant to very similar preexisting counterpart categories. Merging or renaming these categories accordingly should be mostly straightforward...

• Comment For the genre films, its not clear these are "real" genres. I've only heard of Historical drama and Historical adventure in context of more discussed or used regularly as genres. The others (as either period or historical) seem a bit iffy. Does historical implied a recreation of an event or people that happened? or is period just to set for fictional stories set in the past?
