LLM generated article

Hi. Is there a way to report an article which I suspect has been completely rewritten using an LLM? aps (talk) 03:49, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

:AaronPassion: Yes (sadly), there is a maintenance template {{tl|AI-generated}} which will categorise the article in :Category:Articles containing suspected AI-generated texts, and a series of user warning templates starting at {{tl|Uw-ai1}}. — ClaudineChionh (she/her · talk · email · global) 05:01, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

Board Game Artwork

I HAVE JUST RE-POSTED THIS DISCUSSION AS IT EXPIRED BEFORE I HAD A CHANGE TO WRITE AN ADDITIONAL QUESTION.

THIS IS WHAT I WROTE PREVIOUSLY [https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Commons:Village_pump/Copyright&diff=prev&oldid=1025623750]: I am very unsure about how to use Wiki-Commons. I am just about to do some major editing of a Wikipedia article about a board game, e.g., :en:Brass (board game) (Wikipedia 'free link'). I screen-shot the artwork of the game's title on the computer game version, available through Steam. The header is the word "Brass" on a brass plaque. The artwork is clearly not my own work, and I am not sure whether it is the game's logo, as it is the game's title. In addition, since it is a graphic of the game, I assume that the person in control of illustrating the computer version, Magdalena Mudlaff, or the illustrator of the original board game, Peter Dennis, have a copyright over such a graphic. How would I go about working out whether I can use the graphic or getting permission? I seem to see other board games with a complete picture of the game's box cover, including the board game logo, but I am just not sure how they managed to do that. Are such illustrations in the public domain, and, if not, how do they become so? Can you advise me? Thanks in advance for the time taken to lend your assistance.SMargan {{int:Talkpagelinktext}} 22:55, 28 April 2025 (UTC)

THIS WAS THE RESPONSE [https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Commons:Village_pump/Copyright&action=edit&oldid=1025668507]:

: {{ping|SMargan}} There are two separate issues here:

:# Can you upload these materials to Commons? Without seeing the images in question I can't say anything definitive, but it is very unlikely anything related to a game created in recent decades is in the public domain, unless (for example) the logo is too simple to copyright and you want to use that, or the game simply reuses images whose copyright has expired. Otherwise, you'd need the owners of the copyright to release these materials under a free license, and very few owners of commercially valuable materials are likely to do such a thing. If you want a detailed explanation of the issues involved in uploading materials like this to Commons, see Commons:Uploading works by a third party.

:# Failing that, can you upload these as non-free materials on the English-language Wikipedia without involving Commons? :en:Wikipedia:Non-free content allows for allowing certain non-free content (such as logos) directly to en-wiki.

- Jmabel ! talk 04:23, 29 April 2025 (UTC)

::: THIS IS MY LATEST AND FRESH RESPONSE Jmabel ! talk {{ping|Jmabel}} The logo is the word "Brass" on a brass plague background, as the logo of the 2008 board game "Brass". It is difficult to say whether this would be copyrighted as whilst the game was republished as "Brass - Lancashire" (2018) with a different logo, and the logo is pretty generic, the game was pretty popular and might be copyrighted. I have tried to upload the logo via the first method, but to no available, as I do not think this fits within the allowable criteria.

:::I am just a little unsure how to proceed with the second method. The link you gave, i.e. :en:Wikipedia:Non-free content does not seem to show how to do it, in a format I can understand. Is there a specific part of the page I was meant to be looking at. Can you advise? Is there a link to a "non-free content" uploading area? Thanks in advance for your time responding to this further query of mine.SMargan talk 08:02, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

::::SMargan, you should assume that any image you find or copy is conventionally copyright ("all rights reserved") unless you have, and can describe, very clear evidence to the contrary. No image that's conventionally copyright may be uploaded to Commons. Right now, as I type this response, I see within the same browser window various links provided to me by Wikipedia. One of them is "Upload file". Clicking this is how I'd start the process of uploading a file that would need, and that I'd provide, a "fair use" rationale for use within this or that article. (Though actually the process would start earlier, as I'd write and rewrite the "fair use" rationale, ready to paste it in on demand, use GIMP to reduce the size of the image, etc.) -- Hoary talk 12:09, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

:::Wikipedia:Non-free content explains the policy. Template:Non-free use rationale is the template you will need to put on the file page for each non-free image (or, as appropriate, you can use a more specialized template like Template:Non-free use rationale logo). - Jmabel | Talk 16:48, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

::::@Jmabel | Talk - Yes, the Template:Non-free use rationale template will be useful when I have uploaded my tiff file to the "non-free image" section of Wikipedia. Apologies for not being clear enough. Please send me the link for upload a image file to the "non-free image" section of Wikipedia.SMargan (talk) 04:24, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

:{{u|SMargan}}, I find it odd that an article on Brass includes a long list of non-notable awards, but makes no mention of its complicated and confusing "Birkenhead" rule. Maproom talk 13:16, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

:: {{ping|Maproom}} does that somehow have bearing on the question of using these images? If so, would you spell out the connection? and if not, this belongs on the talk page of the article, not here. - Jmabel | Talk 16:45, 25 May 2025 (UTC)

::::@Jmabel | Talk & Maproom talk - I was only responding to the issue Maproom (talk) raised. I think the real issue behind this discussion thread is how to upload a file to the "non-free image" section of Wikipedia. Please send me the link for upload a image file to the "non-free image" section of Wikipedia.SMargan talk 04:24, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

:::::I've struck my off-topic comment above. Maproom talk 06:32, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

::::::@Jmabel | Talk & Maproom talk - The article currently has a lot of deficiencies. I am doing a major re-write. Part of that major edit was going to be the addition of a logo for the game. However, Jmabel | Talk is correct, that issue is something best left to the Wikipedia article talk section. I have started a discussion thread about that issue there [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Brass_(board_game)]. Now, back to the issue at hand, I have the policies on "non-free images", i.e. Template:Non-free use rationale and :en:Wikipedia:Non-free content, but now I need to know how I actually upload a file to the "non-free image" section of Wikipedia. Please send me the link for uploading an image file to the "non-free image" section of Wikipedia.SMargan (talk) 11:19, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

:::::::@SMargan In the menu on the left side of the screen you have the button "Upload file", which takes you to Wikipedia:File upload wizard. There you can choose to "Upload a non-free file", which uploads the file locally here on enwiki instead of Commons. It if complies with Wikipedia:Non-free content of course. Trim02 (talk) 12:42, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

:::::::: There is no "'non-free image' section of Wikipedia." You upload the image to Wikipedia (not Commons), and you use {{tl|Non-free use rationale}} (or a more specialized template) rather than {{tl|Information}}. Start at Wikipedia:File upload wizard and follow the directions. - Jmabel | Talk 16:21, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

how to add pictures supporting activities in articles

how to add pictures supporting activities in articles Chitra Sarwara Ambala (talk) 06:05, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

:@Chitra Sarwara Ambala, I'm not sure what you mean by "pictures supporting activities", but see Help:Pictures. Images, in general, should illustrate article content, and more images is not necessarily better. It's easiest to use pics you find on [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page Commons]. The rule of thumb is that any random pic you find online is under copyright and can't be used on Wikipedia or Commons. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:02, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

:@Chitra Sarwara Ambala: Hi There! I am new here and I've just practiced with adding pictures, so here's my take. To add pictures supporting activities in articles, you need to use images that are freely licensed and relevant to the content of the article. The best place to find such images is Wikimedia Commons, which is the central repository for images used on Wikipedia.

:If you have a suitable image (for example, one you took yourself), you can upload it to Commons using the Upload Wizard. Be sure to provide a proper description, source, and select a free license (such as CC BY-SA).

:Once the image is on Commons, you can add it to the article using this syntax:

:<nowiki>File:Example.jpg</nowiki>

:Replace "Example.jpg" with the actual file name you uploaded or found on Commons, and write an appropriate caption.

:More guidance is available at Help:Pictures. Let me know if you need help finding a specific image or formatting it correctly. TheGreenPenWrites (talk) 16:17, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

How do you cite and can you cite a Microsoft Excel file?

Hello, I am trying to write about tourism to the United States and I was wondering how'd I'd cite that. It's reliable as its an official US Governmental source and you can find the Excel file [https://www.trade.gov/i-94-arrivals-program here] under the title of: "I-94 Monthly International Visitor Arrivals, 2000-Present (Excel File)" and it does work when you open it. I'm also wondering if your allowed to cite Microsoft Excel files here on Wikipedia.

Sincerely, @Skim127 21:35, 26 May 2025 (UTC)

:Hello, @Skim127. The format of a source is relatively unimportant. What's important is that it is published (so a random user can in principle get hold of a copy from some sort of public resource, eg a library) and that it be reliably published (from somebody with a reputation for editorial control and fact checking).

:I don't know if there is a citation template that will suit this, but the use of those is optional anyway. The important bits, beside the url (https://www.trade.gov//sites/default/files/2024-06/Monthly%20Arrivals%202000%20to%20Present%20%E2%80%93%20Country%20of%20Residence%20%28COR%29_1.xlsx) are the author (though there presumably isn't one here), publisher, and date.

:However, there is a problem with this source, because it is "-Present", which means that it will presumably be changing regularly. A source which will change is problematic, because a reader in the future may look at it and find it no longer supports the information which it is being used to verify. So if you are going to use this resource, I would suggest using the most recent arhive of it on archive.org - https://web.archive.org/web/20250320162049/https://www.trade.gov//sites/default/files/2024-06/Monthly%20Arrivals%202000%20to%20Present%20%E2%80%93%20Country%20of%20Residence%20(COR)_1.xlsx, which happens to be from 20 March this year.

:So unless there is a suitable template, I would write the reference) as something like

::'I-94 Monthly International Visitor Arrivals, 2000-Present' (Excel File), US Government International Trade Administration, [https://www.trade.gov//sites/default/files/2024-06/Monthly%20Arrivals%202000%20to%20Present%20%E2%80%93%20Country%20of%20Residence%20%28COR%29_1.xlsx current link], [https://web.archive.org/web/20250320162049/https://www.trade.gov//sites/default/files/2024-06/Monthly%20Arrivals%202000%20to%20Present%20%E2%80%93%20Country%20of%20Residence%20(COR)_1.xlsx archived on 2025-03-25]

:which displays in the reflist as 'I-94 Monthly International Visitor Arrivals, 2000-Present' (Excel File), US Government International Trade Administration, [https://www.trade.gov//sites/default/files/2024-06/Monthly%20Arrivals%202000%20to%20Present%20%E2%80%93%20Country%20of%20Residence%20%28COR%29_1.xlsx current link], [https://web.archive.org/web/20250320162049/https://www.trade.gov//sites/default/files/2024-06/Monthly%20Arrivals%202000%20to%20Present%20%E2%80%93%20Country%20of%20Residence%20(COR)_1.xlsx archived on 2025-03-25]

Thanks, JogiAsad (talk) 02:38, 27 May 2025 (UTC)

:Hello, @JogiAsad. It's saying that you haven't given a title for the source. The title appears to be "STATE OF FORESTS IN SINDH AS WELL AS THE ECONOMIC BENEFITS FLOWING OUT OF IT", so you can easily insert that in the template after |title= - though I recommend typing it in title case rather than all capitals. ColinFine (talk) 10:03, 27 May 2025 (UTC)

:Hello, @JogiAsad, I see you have added the nonexistent catergories :Category:Wildlife sanctuaries in Sindh and :Category:Forests of Sindh. According to WP:CATREDLINK these should be created or removed from the article. If the provincial categories would only have one or two members it is probably better to use national categories. What do I do if a photo has been incorrectly marked as non-free

:Hello, {{u|Thehistorianisaac}}. You need to provide convincing written evidence that the image is either in the public domain or freely licensed with terms that meet Wikipedia's standards. What's the best way to deal with this scenario? Expanding a redirect to article, not losing history?

So, there's these, that both just redirect to a list of characters:

  1. Saru (Star Trek)
  2. Saru (Star Trek: Discovery)

I have no idea how it never got made before as a proper article, but it took about a minute of digging to gather enough for GNG alone--so I'm gonna knock it out. But, since it exists like that, should I draft in my user space here?

Or just pick the more appropriate of the two and just build out directly? I want my editing history to be present in the final Article space page for everyone's tracking, not in some lost deleted draft. What do? I don't think I've moved a multiple-times edited Redirect into an article before. -- Very Polite Person (talk) 15:04, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

:Disregard, thanks anyway, I'm just going to directly build out the Discovery version one. -- Very Polite Person (talk) 15:28, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

What do I do if another user claimed a page I made has promotional content but won't identify which text needs to be changed?

I recently created the page for the Global Student Forum. While creating the page, the cite source function stopped working, and it seemed like the only way to avoid losing my progress was to publish it unfinished and make subsequent edits to the page, which put it at risk of being swarmed by other users in its unfinished state. Sure enough, a user named Sumanuil put a banner on it alleging that the page contains promotional content. I cited sources for factual claims, tried to write in a neutral tone, and am not affiliated with the organization. I edited the text to remove what could be misconstrued as promotional, but the banner has remained. I posted a request for clarification on Sumanuil's Talk page, but Sumanuil removed this without providing any clarification.

I have been a Wikipedian for over ten years. The Wikipedia I have come to know is a toxic, insular group that is hostile to new and less experienced users. On multiple occasions, I have seen knowledge erased on minute technicalities that could have easily been ameliorated with dialogue and collaboration. Please do not let the Global Student Forum page be another example to further reinforce what I have reluctantly perceived. You can see the timestamps on the Global Student Forum page to see the time I put into creating it and researching the sources. I want to be compliant. I just need clarification and assistance. For historical purposes (talk) 18:05, 28 May 2025 (UTC)

:The requirement that Wikipedia articles be primarily based around what independent sources have to say on the subject, rather than citations to the subject's own website etc, isn't a 'minute technicality'. In my opinion, the 'promotional' banner is still justified. As for difficulties with editing, you have the option of using your sandbox, which should ensure you can publish the article only when you consider it complete. ::Though I agree with everything said above and that the tag should stay, I would like to note that For historical purposes did ask Sumanuil on their talk page, which was promptly reverted. For even more context, National priority protected sites are China's equivalent to the US National Register of Historic Places Thehistorianisaac (talk) 02:46, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

:What makes you think Template:Infobox historic site is not adequate for the purpose? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:03, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

::Having a separate template for Chinese protected sites would be useful(sort of like how NRHP has it's own template), such as when it was added to the National Priority protected site or provincial site registry, the Chinese dynasty, protection level, dynasty, which batch it was added in, it's category etc etc. It's sort of a similar situation to Template:Infobox NRHP. Main point is, I would like to know how to make an infobox Thehistorianisaac (talk) 13:20, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

:::We decided several years back not to have separate boxes for each country; and merged all but a few "grandfathered" templates into one.

:::Again: What makes you think Template:Infobox historic site is not adequate? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:26, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

::::Oh ok. Will switch to use Infobox historic site. However, does that infobox work for chinese protected sites, such as national level, municipal level, etc etc? Because I haven't seen anybody add it when it was used Thehistorianisaac (talk) 13:35, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

:::::I don't know; that's what I'm asking you. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 14:22, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

Templates for retired users

On the now-deceased user Dreadstar's talk page, there was a note saying {{tquote|Please no notes on my talk page; any watchers please remove them if you see them. Thanks and good luck to everyone!}}, which the user posted when he retired back in March 2015.

Given the above, I have a question for the Wikipedia community: should we remove any notices (like AFD notices) on all retired/deceased userpages if so needed? Thanks, Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 11:10, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

:The "user page" have the same content than "talk-page". In my understanding we should not touch to anything but I'm maybe wrong.

:"User:Dreadstar" is a redirect to "User talk:Dreadstar".

:As the user died. I consider that this page is not anymore managed by this user.

:Therefore , now it's a "de facto memorial page".

:"Mark WILSON" alias "Dreadstar" is listed on the next link "Wikipedia:Deceased Wikipedians".

:Read this. I think that this behavioral guideline can answer to yours questions : "Wikipedia:Deceased Wikipedians/Guidelines".

:If you want to read the obituary (I don't know if this is a right term in this context) on Wikipedia. Wikipedia:Deceased_Wikipedians/2016#Mark_Wilson_(Dreadstar) Anatole-berthe (talk) 17:31, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

need a credible contributing writer

Hi, I'm looking for someone who can build a content page for my personal listing. I have tried and the content keeps being refused. I am a voiceover Talent professional with many commercials voiced, I have appeared in movies as well as ran for municipal elections. Can anyone suggest a person to help me publish a proper listing.

thnx

Aaroc1 (talk) 20:20, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

:Can anyone Suggest such a person? Probably not, since everything you have written suggests that you have entirely misunderstood the purpose of Wikipedia. We do not have 'personal listings'. We do have biographical articles, but only on individuals who meet our notability criteria, as demonstrated through in-depth coverage in independent published reliable sources. Such articles are open to anyone to edit, and they are not under the control of the subject. Wikipedia is not a web-hosting service. AndyTheGrump (talk) 20:49, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

:Additionally: At the top of this page, a prohibition is described. I've implemented the prohibition. -- Hoary (talk) 20:55, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

:If anyone is wondering, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Claudio Napoleoni. The article Claudio Napoleoni had been created by {{U|Nathanguss}}. The (separate) draft Draft:Claudio Napoleoni (twice deleted after half-year inactivity) was created by Nathanguss and {{U|Goulz}}. Nathanguss also created the article CN VoiceOvers (deleted A7). -- Hoary (talk) 21:14, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

::Yup - clearly connected, while trying to suggest otherwise in the AfD discussion. Aaroc1, if that was you, or anyone connected with you, please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, and ensure it doesn't happen again. AndyTheGrump (talk) 21:18, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

Too small articles

Good day or evening! Could you please tell me what we do with one or two sentences articles? I was reading random articles and found this one. As war as I know in some Wikipedias we usually delete this kind of articles. But I suppose that another rules can be applied here. Thank you in advance! Foxyra (talk) 23:05, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

:Hi, {{u|Foxyra}}! Since it's a scientifically valid taxon, it's considered inherently notable (by en.Wikipedia) – see Wikipedia:Notability (species).

:What we do (if we choose) is to try to expand it with more details from the existing references, and/or try to find more references and utilise their content also. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.193.154.147 (talk) 23:41, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

Possible deleted article

I was reading an article this morning. This afternoon, it doesn't exist. How? The article if "FAZISI" Kenamck143 (talk) 23:22, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

:An administrator (which I am not) can probably look up the article if it was deleted, and tell you why. Was this about the yacht of that name (which might theoretically merit an article), the Fazisi Stadium (why so named? The article doesn't say), or something else entirely? {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.193.154.147 (talk) 23:47, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

::How can I contact an administrator to ask about the article "FAZISI" which appears to have been deleted within the past 24 hours?

::Thank you,

::Ken Kenamck143 (talk) 23:59, 29 May 2025 (UTC)

:::It doesn't appear that any such article has been deleted from en:Wikipedia. Are you, Kenamck143, perhaps thinking of the Polish-language article Fazisi? -- Hoary (talk) 00:33, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

::::No article called "FAZISI" or "Fazisi" has been here at the English Wikipedia. Maybe you saw it somewhere else and can find the url in your browser history. If you have autotranslation in your browser then you may have seen the Polish article, or the Russian :ru:Фазиси (яхта), or the Ukrainian :uk:Фазісі (яхта). PrimeHunter (talk) 00:39, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

:::::Actually, you are right. I may have read the article in Polish. How can I translate that article to English, then edit it to reflect the current, correct data?

:::::Thank you Kenamck143 (talk) 01:15, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

::::::I think Help:Translation is what you're looking for? DonIago (talk) 02:25, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

::::::Translating :pl:Fazisi, Kenamck143, would result in a draft sure not to be promoted to article status. First, find reliable sources, independent of the yacht's owners, for information about the yacht. (Wikipedia articles, whatever language they're in, are not reliable sources.) Then use those sources to create a draft, noting which part of the content comes from which source. -- Hoary (talk) 03:21, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

Deletion of My Wiki Page

Satelite images and creative commons

Hi all, I'm just curious if open-street map or google satellite view images are considered open-access under creative commons licensing, and can thus be screenshotted or saved to be uploaded for image reference on the site. I've searched elsewhere but couldn't find a definitive answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

:Hi, {{u|CSGinger14}}! Have you seen, and followed up the links on, Wikipedia:WikiProject Maps? After a brief search, I couldn't find a definitive answer to your question, but you could ask on its Talk page. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.193.154.147 (talk) 07:03, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

::Have not, but will. Thank you!

::CSGinger14 (talk) 07:09, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

:::{{ping|CSGinger14}} Google satellite views are definitely copyrighted and can't be uploaded to Commons. I'm not entirely sure about OpenStreetMap, but I found [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Village_pump/Copyright/Archive/2020/06#Are_screenshots_of_openstreetmap_free_to_upload? this thread] at Commons's Village pump that seems to indicate that OSM screenshots are OK to upload. If you have further questions about this sort of thing, it's best to ask at Commons. Deor (talk) 16:14, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

:Screenshots of OSM maps can be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, but not screenshots or downloads of satellite views in OSM editing tools. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:39, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

Air Force ROTC Emblems & Wikimedia Commons

Hello, I am unfamiliar with concepts around copyright laws for images and emblems, and I want to know if Air Force ROTC Detachment emblems would be permitted for use on Wikipedia. I know that a large number of USAF Unit emblems are already in use, but I don't know the specifics around their usage/uploading permnissibility, and I wanted to get guidance before just uploading Detachment emblems.

I am asking this because I am currently working on a list of AFROTC detachments, and will be working on articles for individual detachments in the future. Omega LVIII (talk) 07:51, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

:@Omega LVIII, if they are a work of the Air Force and not unofficial, they may be uploaded to Commons using a template like :c:Template:PD-USGov-Military-Air Force. From what I can tell they are indeed works of an Air Force employee or similar. – Isochrone (talk) 10:45, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

::Awesome, thank you for the clarification! Omega LVIII (talk) 17:43, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

IP address blocker issue

Hi team , I am facing IP address blocker issue while trying to create a Wikipedia page how do I rectify this 115.96.84.45 (talk) 14:37, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

:Hi IP editor, you are editing without an account, so you can't create a Wikipedia article. You could create an account and qualify as WP:AUTOCONFIRMED or you could create a WP:DRAFT and use WP:Articles for creation. TSventon (talk) 15:34, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

Summary won’t show up

I attempted to add "Donald Trump vs. Ebenezer Scrooge" to DeStorm Power#Notable videos and collaborations, but in the preview, the episode summary was nonexistent. Note that I copy-pasted the format from the entry for Shaka Zulu vs. Julius Caesar because I don't know how to write in that template. Yyannako (talk) 14:51, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

:{{ping|Yyannako}} You have to save your code somewhere so we can see what's wrong with it. If it doesn't damage the article in preview then just save it there. PrimeHunter (talk) 16:24, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

Change a logo on a Football Club Page

Hi,

I wanted to update the club badge for Cribbs FC to the badge shown on www.cribbsfc.co.uk

No idea how I achieve this?

Is it possible to upload a JPEG at all?

Thanks Thealewolf (talk) 16:13, 30 May 2025 (UTC)

:@Thealewolf .jpg are fine, although the current logo for Cribbs F.C. is a .png. The issue is whether the logo is copyright or is too simple and thus public domain. See WP:Logo for advice on this. The current logo is at :File:Cribbs F.C. logo.png, uploaded as a WP:NONFREE image, so you could always upload the new one in the same way, just onto en: Wikipedia. See the current logo's file page for the justification you will have to use. Mike Turnbull (talk) 16:44, 30 May 2025 (UTC)
