Can be perceived as Islamophobic. As User:DanielRigal has put it, it is possibly dogwhistling. A similar userbox {{tl|User Kafir Lives Matter}} was also deleted for this same reason; since this has been around for a long time, I want to send this through MfD to see if there is consensus to delete. It is possible that this could be speedied as WP:G10 as well, but since it is possibly controversial and not obvious, this may be the way to go. Aasim (talk) 21:46, 12 December 2021 (UTC)

• Delete. I very much don't like it but that is not a reason to delete it. I think the box can be used to indicate a general antagonism against Islam. That makes it disruptive and is a reason to delete. (That was certainly the context in which I first discovered and passed comment on it but the user in question has since blanked their User page so lets not worry about them.) I'm not blaming the author of the box here. Back in 2009 there was a referendum in Switzerland to ban the building of new Minarets. (Switzerland has a lot of weird referendums and this was certainly one of them.) The box was also made in 2009 so I think that the original author was genuinely thinking of that specific referendum at that time. I can't tell whether they are Swiss. They have not contributed since 2009 anyway, so I doubt they care what we do with the box. I think the box was always a bad idea but I see no evidence of intentional bad faith in creating it. There are 10 users currently using the box, including its author. Only two have edited in the article space in 2021. Some have only ever edited their own User pages (unless there are deleted contributions that I can't see) which is a bit weird. Two seem to be the same person but I don't think that is sockpuppetry. I think they just abandoned one account and made another. So there are only two active users we might be annoying here if we delete this. Both have huge numbers of userboxes, so including this one was probably not a deeply considered choice for them. Maybe they won't mind if they have one less in a week's time? I guess we could ping them to see if they care? So, does that add up to a case to delete? I think it does. Whatever its author may have intended, the box is divisive and sets a bad precedent for allowing boxes that target various groups via proxy issues. --DanielRigal (talk) 22:45, 12 December 2021 (UTC)
