Hi, I'm Modussiccandi. I'm a Latinist in the real world. On Wikipedia, I have written content on classical literature (both Greek and Latin), the history of classical scholarship, European history of the 20th century, women biographies, higher education, association football, and more. From 1 February 2022 to 15 July 2024, I was an administrator, which means that the community gave me a number of additional tools to aid the maintenance of the encyclopaedia. I still remember the mixture of admiration and fury I felt when I uncovered a longstanding well-constructed obscure biographical hoax, and how long it took me to be certain. At least "Bilitis", "Ossian" and "Rowley" wrote some decent poetry.
