Thank you for visiting "my" talk page.
Please leave your message at the bottom of this page, either by clicking "New section" (above) or "Click here..." (below).
I'll reply wherever you prefer (my usual habit is to reply on your talk page, which means I'm watching it, and there's no need to add the talkback template or quote any previous message).

 • Please be civil. Even if you came rushing here, mad as hell, to get something off your chest, remember that civility is a fundamental rule at Wikipedia. Who knows? You might even be right and get an apology out of me. Plus a "Thank you", for being so reasonable about it.
 • Remember the three revert rule (3RR): If I have reverted or undone your edit, please do not just keep making the same changes to the article over and over again. We can discuss it here or, preferably, at the article talk page, where you’ll get the views of other editors. If you are sure that I have infringed 3RR, you can report it here. If you are sure I am guilty of any other kind of misconduct, you can report it here.
 • Please do not accuse me of bias or censorship. I’m actually quite a reasonable sorta chap, am always willing to know your side of the things and I shall do my utmost to ensure that a neutral point of view prevails at Wikipedia.

Oh yeah, before I forget, if you came here because I undid or reverted your unsourced content, there's really no point bringing it up here. Just cite your references to the article you edited.

Your message on my talk page

I am correcting the misinformation concerning nationalities of people! You need to be aware that England is NOT an official sovereign country!

The sources for my edits were the US Census QuickFacts and a few other surveys in the demographics section of the articles. Should I copy that source again or is it better to use a source that discusses the demographics of the cities rather than just listing census data?

Also, is there some way that I can respond on my talk page to make you see my message? I don't know how to do this. 135.180.146.84 (talk) 16:41, 6 July 2023 (UTC)

File:Information.svg Thank you for making a report about SaulGoodman6969 at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, it appears that the editor you reported may not have engaged in vandalism, or the user was not sufficiently or appropriately warned. Please note there is a difference between vandalism and unhelpful or misguided edits made in good faith. If the user continues to vandalise after a recent final warning, please re-report it. Thank you. IanDBeacon (talk) 16:55, 8 July 2023 (UTC)

 • Just for the record (for future reference): The user, after having received a sufficient number of warnings from other users, including a "may be blocked from editing without further warning" from an admin, continued to removed perfectly valid references, on at least two occasions that I was aware of: (an edit which had been reverted before I could do so and (and one that I reverted). This second edit was made after the page had been protected. Wikipedia sandbox "vandalism"

Hi, this message is regarding that IP editor (35.134.216.96) you recently reported to AIV; the Wikipedia sandbox is literally a place where editors can experiment with editing Wikipedia and find out how things work, make test edits, etc. It even says in most user warning templates to use the sandbox for test/experimental edits. They can make pretty much any kind of edits they want. The only exceptions to this are what it says in the bottom of the sandbox header, "Please DO NOT place promotional, copyrighted, offensive, or libelous content in sandboxes.", so if you do come across sandbox edits that blatantly and strongly go against that, then do go ahead and remove them, and I would write a notice on their talk page telling them not to place promotional, copyright, or libellous content in the sandbox. But the edits I've seen from that IP, just look like normal test edits to me and certainly did not need to be immediately reverted, let alone warned for.

For these reasons, your report at AIV of that IP was declined.

So yeah, just thought I'd let you know it's not really necessary to warn and report users over most kinds of sandbox edits. I would save the time and effort for patrolling over other article edits instead. — AP 499D25 (talk) 04:21, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

User-An asphalt undid cited changes on 'pakistan army equipment page' which was given by (user-Mr khomri),the changes did by Mr khomri includes numbers of artillery's,which was(before mr khomri edited it) uncited, and Randomly put by editors. Also many source's which are present in notes section are dead. The reason why I ask you for help again and again is this - I am not an old or big editor, even if I edit by giving reliable source, still many people revert it without seeing it. It would be better if you solve the problem by visiting this page. Dl ff (talk) 03:39, 30 July 2023 (UTC)

Why do you commandeer the simple additions we make? Why do you care if a horrible photo is edited? Why do you know better than Scofield about himself, his life and career? Astrodome vs. State Farm Center.

You revered my edit and said "Nowhere does the reference provided back up the content added" That is COMPLETELY False. And the info I provided is TRUE and ACCURATE. Wikipedia claims the Astrodome is the world's first domed stadium. It was opened in 1965. However, I made an edit and provided a source. My edit stated that the State Farm Center, a domed stadium, in Urbana, IL was opened in 1963. The reference I left was the actual weblink Provided by the University of Illinois provides official information on the State Farm Center and the opening date for the State Farm Center is right there in the text provided on the link. I suggest you do your research before you go policing what you think is credible references! Jnimee (talk) 04:29, 12 December 2024 (UTC)

Domestic violence image

I don't agree with the vandalism but having a colored ribbon really is confusing now that Wikipedia shows you image previews of articles on mouseover. There's not really anything in the article body that would fit better up there, but I think it might be best to move the purple ribbon into the article body, even if that means not having a header photo at all. That might be best because it's such a personal and controversial subject. Bruhpedia (talk) 12:02, 12 December 2024 (UTC)

Nomination of The Locos for Speedy Deletion

Speedy deletion nomination of :The Locos

A tag has been placed on :The Locos requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the . • :I'll explain you why.
 • :I think it is indisputable that the cheese mentioned in the article is the one produced in Italy, consequently, the correct name is Parmigiano Reggiano.
 • :It should also be remembered that Parmesan and Parmigiano Reggiano, as also stated on the article's discussion page, are two different things.
 • :Parmigiano Reggiano is Parmesan, while Parmesan is not always Parmigiano Reggiano.
 • :As someone suggested in the discussion page, there should be two distinct pages. One for Parmesan and one for Parmigiano Reggiano.
 • :Furthermore, having reached the status quo does not mean that what has been decided is right. That said, I will probably open a discussion on the issue in the next few days and maybe edit the article again obviously adding the summary as you advised.

Hi Technopat!

I urge you to review the information I have removed. My intention was not to act in bad faith but to address manifest inaccuracies.

Spain does not maintain official statistics on ethnic groups. The source cited, the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE), only provides data on the place of birth, which is not synonymous with ethnicity. A person can be born in Spain and belong to an ethnic group other than the Spanish one, and conversely, someone born outside Spain can be ethnically Spanish. The INE's data pertains solely to the birthplace of residents in Spain, not the country's ethnic composition.

Thank you for your understanding, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused.Avelumt (talk) 08:13, 22 February 2025 (UTC)

Edit warring

Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion

File:Information icon4.svg

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you. 170.62.100.237 (talk) 12:02, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

Stop

Stop edit warring and take it to the talk page. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 12:32, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

 • I was just going to thank you for intervening, but I now see that you have warned me below for edit-warring. As you may know, one of the exemptions from the edit-warring policy is "Reverting obvious vandalism—edits that any well-intentioned user would agree constitute vandalism, such as page blanking..." (WP:NOT3RR) I shall now stand down, happy in the knowledge that you have taken over the necessary revert effort. --Technopat (talk) 12:44, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
 • :I’m not sure whether it is obvious vandalism. They have cited their reasons at the talk page of the article and I think it would be good if you went there to explain why you believe it is obvious vandalism. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 12:46, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
 • I have zero interest in the article and therefore do not have the knowledge required to particpate in a discussion on how to improve it, which is what the talk page is for. The fact remains that one or several IPs and registered users have, over the past few days, repeatedly deleted the same perfectly well-referenced content, aka page blanking. --Technopat (talk) 12:52, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
 • :I have no knowledge either. I was just stopping an unconstructive and time wasting edit war that was getting nowhere. The best approach is to take it to the talk page to give them a chance to voice their opinion on why they are doing it, not repeatedly revert their edits. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 12:55, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
 • Page blanking is page blanking and repeatedly doing so, after having been warned about it is... But fine, as I write, the sockpuppet's version is currently up there and I really can't be bothered to sort it out, especially if it results in getting blocked for doing so. --Technopat (talk) 13:07, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
 • :What do you mean? I have reinstated the old edits. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 13:08, 9 March 2025 (UTC)
 • Sorry, I didn't see your question as I was editing elsewhere. At the time of writing my comment above, you still hadn't reinstated the edits, though I now see that you were obviously doing so at that time. Thank you. --Technopat (talk) 14:39, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

March 2025

File:Ambox warning pn.svg You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

 1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
 2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. ScrabbleTiles (talk) 12:38, 9 March 2025 (UTC)

1A1

Why did you revert my edits on the 1A1 section? It was factual information and much needed cleanup. Is it a source issue? (164.154.253.88 (talk) 20:50, 19 March 2025 (UTC))

:I also noticed my last addition (it was an addition to my previous edits before I saw they were reverted) was also removed. I simply added that the 1A1 was an unlicensed variant. Why, exactly, was that removed? It's factual and sourced information that is elsewhere in the section. Since the 1A1 is the only FAL variant I can think of that is unlicensed it seems noteworthy to put that in the introductory sentence. (164.154.253.88 (talk) 21:00, 19 March 2025 (UTC))

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for edit warring, as you did at :Climbing. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: .  Aoidh (talk) 02:51, 20 March 2025 (UTC)

 • The above comment, which if it were a true indictment of my behaviour here, should surely be enough to get me blocked for some other reason, was made by a member of the Arbitration Committee, an administrator, checkuser and oversighter. Not by any supposed "victim" of Technopat. The block itself I can cope with, as it's all part of the mindless stats., but that single comment, gratuitous, has managed to do what no amount of vandalism, trolling, flaming or personal attacks has been able to do over all these years and that is question why I should bother helping out on this project. I thought I was thick-skinned enough not to let these things get to me... From now on, I may just potter around for a while, meekly fixing the innumerable substandard articles on my watchlist, but as far as helping out at Recent changes, etc., and actively reverting all that messy stuff that goes down there, I don't wanna get my fingers burned. I apologise to all my fellow patrollers and rollbackers out there for leaving them in the lurch, but I simply CBA. --Technopat (talk) 09:06, 26 March 2025 (UTC)

::You being blocked was not a "mindless stat", it was done to prevent further disruption. An editor started a discussion on the talk page to try to determine why you were repeatedly reverting their edits, as you had provided no explanation why you were reverting them. Your response to their attempt at discussion was not to explain the reason for your edit warring, but this comment. This behavior runs contrary to several Wikipedia policies, particularly those discussed at WP:5P4. There is nothing gratuitous about pointing that out when reviewing the report that you yourself made. You specifically asked administrators to examine the edits, and so they were examined at your request. You were blocked for making seven reverts in under an hour, going far beyond WP:3RR. You were not blocked for the incivility, which did not factor into the block and was not part of the block log specifically because Wikipedia:Civility#Blocking for incivility notes that This is why I left a comment for that issue specifically rather than factoring it into any blocks made, in the hopes that pointing out the issue would prevent it from reoccurring. - Aoidh (talk) 18:43, 26 March 2025 (UTC)

Tercio of Idiáquez and Tercio of Fuenclara articles

Why did you expand those articles if most of what you wrote, respectfully, is wrong? The tercio of idiáquez is nowhere addressed as the "tercio of Lombardía." The tercio is also not the predecessor to the Regimiento de Infantería 'Principe' nº 2 or nº 3. The source you cited for that doesn't even state Idiáquez once.

The tercio of idiáquez was raised in 1633 and was composed of 19 companies of gathered Spanish veterans and 7 companies of Spanish veterans from the tercio viejo de Lombardía, totaling 1,800 men in 26 companies. It was never called the "tercio de Lombardía" and was simply incorporated into the tercio viejo de Lombardía and other tercios viejos in Flanders in 1635 when the army arrived. The tercio of Fuenclara also faced the same fate in 1635, being incorporated into the other native Spanish tercios.

Due to this I don't believe these articles were even worth expanding in the first place as there's not much to add other that what you wrote which, with all due respect, isn't true. Unless you want to correct what you wrote and expand the articles Tercio of Idiáquez and Tercio of Fuenclara in another way, I'd suggest either leaving the articles as they were before @Ravenswing -- Bubba6t3411 (talk) 13:53, 17 April 2025 (UTC)

 • Interestin' take. Will go over my sources and get back to you on this asap. In the meantime, you yourself point out that "the tercio of idiáquez (sic)... was composed of [among others] 7 companies of Spanish veterans from the tercio viejo de Lombardía,...". Likewise, as I go to great extent to point out, regiments are subject to numerous name changes throughout [their] history and the historiography is often careless when referring to military units and their commanders, whiuch make the tracing of amalgamations complex. As for your suggestions of "leaving the articles as they were before or deleting them", that does seem to me to be a bit of a cop-out, as it would erase from Wikipedia an important part of European military history, given that they have been tagged for deletion. --Technopat (talk) 18:45, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
 • :Although they incorporated 7 companies from the tercio viejo de Lombardía, the tercio de Idiáquez was still composed of 19 companies not from the tercio viejo de Lombardía. Idiáquez's tercio was never referred to as the "tercio de Lombardía" or the "tercio viejo de Lombardía" because the tercio viejo de Lombardía itself was already deployed in Flanders, along with some other native Spanish tercios. These extra companies that were incorporated were simply either the companies left behind in Italy as garrison or newly raised companies of the largest [native] Spanish tercio (that is, the tercio viejo de Lombardía) and is not to be confused with any other tercios.
 • :I suppose if you truly want to expand the articles Tercio of Idiáquez and Tercio of Fuenclara, you could write more in detail about their roles in battle. For this I would recommend de Aedo's work from 1635 (there are revised/translated versions published more recently), which provides you with a primary source that goes into the most detail. The Spanish title is El Memorable Y Glorioso Viaje Del Infante Cardenal D. Fernando De Austria. -- Bubba6t3411 (talk) 08:40, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
