The Dhala impact structure (N25°17'59.7" and E78°8'3.1") is an impact structure formed by an asteroid impact.{{cite Earth Impact DB | name = Dhala| linkname = dhala| accessdate = 2016-04-26}} It is situated near Bhonti village in Pichhore block of Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh state in India. It is the largest impact structure in India, and between the Mediterranean and Southeast Asia. The diameter of the structure is estimated at {{convert|3|km}},{{Cite web|url=https://www.lpi.usra.edu/meteor/metbull.php?code=49717|title=Meteoritical Bulletin: Entry for Dhala|website=www.lpi.usra.edu|access-date=2020-01-24}} while other sources estimate its diameter to be 11 km diameter. It is the second such structure found in India, after Lonar lake.{{cite news|last1=PTI|title=Indian geologist discovers oldest impact structure in India|url=http://www.livemint.com/Industry/uMSLhf2ryC7wyH0qbJtBrI/Indian-geologist-discovers-oldest-impact-structure-in-India.html|accessdate=26 July 2015|publisher=Live Mint, News|date=11 January 2009}}

It is 200 km east of the Ramgarh crater.

Impact date

It is estimated that the impact occurred between 2.44 and 2.24 Ga.{{cite journal |doi=10.1016/j.gr.2017.10.006 |title=Anatomy of impactites and shocked zircon grains from Dhala reveals Paleoproterozoic meteorite impact in the Archean basement rocks of Central India |journal=Gondwana Research |volume=54 |pages=81–101 |year=2018 |last1=Li |first1=Shan-Shan |last2=Keerthy |first2=S |last3=Santosh |first3=M |last4=Singh |first4=S.P |last5=Deering |first5=C.D |last6=Satyanarayanan |first6=M |last7=Praveen |first7=M.N |last8=Aneeshkumar |first8=V |last9=Indu |first9=G.K |last10=Anilkumar |first10=Y |last11=Sajinkumar |first11=K.S |bibcode=2018GondR..54...81L }} Basement rocks are predominantly composed of granitoids.
