FIA Prize Giving Ceremony#FIA President Innovation Medal

{{short description|Annual event}}

{{Use dmy dates|date=March 2018}}

The FIA Prize Giving Ceremony is an annual event promoted by Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) which honours the achievements of all FIA champions over the previous season.

In 2014, the FIA introduced a new format where the champions and guests took part in a competition held at a kart circuit designed by Hermann Tilke, under the race direction of Charlie Whiting. Rookie of the Year and Action of the Year are presented annually, whilst awards such as Personality of the Year have previously been awarded.{{cite web |url=http://www.fia.com/news/fia-prize-giving-2014-inaugurates-new-format-doha |title=FIA Prize-Giving 2014 inaugurates new format in Doha |author= |date=27 November 2014 |website=fia.com |publisher=Federation Internationale de l'Automobile |access-date=23 November 2016 |quote=}} Other special awards include Outstanding Official of the Year and the President Innovation Medal.

The FIA Personality of the Year award sees permanently accredited media from the FIA's World Championships honour the competitor or figure who they believe achieved an exceptional performance this season. This figure can be a driver, a team manager, an official, a volunteer, etc., affiliated to an FIA Championship or Event. Each member of the media is required to vote for three individuals in the first stage before choosing from a final selection of ten.{{Cite web|last=Smith|first=Luke|date=8 November 2013|title=FIA announce two new awards for end of season prize-giving|url=https://motorsports.nbcsports.com/2013/11/08/fia-announce-two-new-awards-for-end-of-season-prize-giving/|url-status=live|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20160301000907/http://motorsports.nbcsports.com/2013/11/08/fia-announce-two-new-awards-for-end-of-season-prize-giving/|archive-date=1 March 2016|access-date=31 July 2020|publisher=NBC Sports}} The Personality of the Year award was dropped ahead of the 2022 Prize Giving Ceremony, replaced with two new prize categories.{{Cite web |last=Chokhani |first=Darshan |date=2022-12-10 |title=Hamilton, Maloney winners in '22 FIA Prize Gala other than champs |url=https://formularapida.net/hamilton-maloney-winners-in-22-fia-prize-gala-other-than-champs/ |access-date=2023-01-02 |website=FormulaRapida.net |language=en-US}}
