The Longest Summer
At the 48th Hong Kong International Film Festival, The Longest Summer, a film by director Fruit Chan, which touches on the topic of the handover of Hong Kong to the People's Republic of China in July 1997, was originally scheduled to be screened on 2 February 2024. However, the screening was abruptly cancelled after the organizer said they were unable to locate suitable copies for screening. {{Cite web |title=國際電影節突取消放映《去年煙花特別多》 陳果感可惜:咩都可以發生 (21:01) - 20240309 - 港聞 |url=https://news.mingpao.com/ins/%E6%B8%AF%E8%81%9E/article/20240309/s00001/1709989816967/%E5%9C%8B%E9%9A%9B%E9%9B%BB%E5%BD%B1%E7%AF%80%E7%AA%81%E5%8F%96%E6%B6%88%E6%94%BE%E6%98%A0%E3%80%8A%E5%8E%BB%E5%B9%B4%E7%85%99%E8%8A%B1%E7%89%B9%E5%88%A5%E5%A4%9A%E3%80%8B-%E9%99%B3%E6%9E%9C%E6%84%9F%E5%8F%AF%E6%83%9C-%E5%92%A9%E9%83%BD%E5%8F%AF%E4%BB%A5%E7%99%BC%E7%94%9F |access-date=2024-10-28 |website=明報新聞網 - 即時新聞 instant news |language=zh-hant}}
