The crew who had abandoned her were rescued on 8 August by the convict ship {{ship||Scindian}} ({{flagcountry|UKGBI|civil}}). The steamship Antenor ({{flag|France}}) towed Jeddah into port at Aden, Aden Governorate on 11 August. Eighteen lives were lost in the incident.
