Pope Leo XIV is the FIRST Augustinian Pope - specifically he is a member of the Order of Saint Augustine (O.S.A.). The previous Popes whom are being called Augustinians here belong to different Augustinian Order that have nothing to do with this specific order (i.e. O.S.A.). Eugene IV, for example, belongs to the Canon Regulars of St. Augustine (Confederation of Canons Regular of Saint Augustine or C.R.S.A.). It's completely different.

Pope Leo XIV is the FIRST Augustinian Pope - specifically he is a member of the Order of Saint Augustine (O.S.A.). The previous Popes whom are being called Augustinians here belong to different Augustinian Order that have nothing to do with this specific order (i.e. O.S.A.). Eugene IV, for example, belongs to the Canon Regulars of St. Augustine (Confederation of Canons Regular of Saint Augustine or C.R.S.A.). It's completely different.

I've noticed that the article is going back and forth on whether Leo XIV is the 6th/7th Augustinian or not. Let me answer that since I used to be part of the Augustinian Order before I stopped being Catholic and I personally know the Pope. THIS IS THE DEFINITE ANSWER:
