Location

Port information

The port of Tanjung Bara is often also known as TBCT (Tanjung Bara Coal Terminal). The terminal started its operations in 1991 and has 4 concrete wharves with a length of {{convert|350|m|yd|sp=us|abbr=off}}. A a depth alongside of {{convert|17.25|m|ft|sp=us|abbr=off}} at the Lowest astronomical tide (LAT) allows it to accommodate cape sized vessels. Tanjung Bara itself has a fair tidal range from {{convert|4.4|to(-)|2.8|m|ft|sp=us|abbr=off}}. The channel leading to the port has a higher draft allowed of {{convert|25|m|ft|sp=us|abbr=off}}. While the stockpile on the jetty can store up to {{convert|1.25|MT|ST|sp=us|abbr=off}} of coal, each of the quadrant type loaders is capable of loading at a rate of {{convert|4200|MT|ST|sp=us|abbr=off}} per hour, with a trajectory of {{convert|7|m|yd|sp=us|abbr=off}}. The port works around the clock and accepts bulk carriers of a length of {{convert|310|m|yd|sp=us|abbr=off}} and a breadth of {{convert|50|m|yd|sp=us|abbr=off}}.
