I was away from Wikipedia for a good while (over a year, I think), during which time the "Global contributions" link was added to the toolbox when viewing a userpage. I have no use for this link, and I'm constantly clicking it when I intend to click the adjacent "User contributions" link. Is there any way to hide it? Hello! I noticed a floating "[ Reply ]" button on the Wikipedia:Update page, centred on the Viewport roughly half way down on the left side, which seems to be a matter of "position: fixed;" rather than "position: relative;" in the CSS. It does not reply to anything, it links to Wikipedia:Update, which is the same page the button is on! I wonder whether this button has actually ever served any purpose. It seems to have been added (not floating) in this version: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Update&oldid=1112554098, amidst a lot of other testing. Should this button be removed?

Hi, there is a lengthy conversation taking place at Wikipedia_talk:External_links#Proposal:_expand_the_scope_of_ELNO_to_include_"Further_reading" about guidelines concerning "Further reading" sections. I'm pretty sure this is the wrong forum, however. If, in the unlikely event of a new consensus, that consensus is to be binding, I'm pretty sure that this should be taking place at Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style or somewhere at the Wikipedia:Village_pump so that more people see it and have a chance to weigh in.

Any advice on if/where/how to relocate?

Hello Rangasyd,

The Pedophile Allen Huggins who I wrote about in 2021, where you said that being mentioned in a newspaper was not creditable reference. Below is another news paper article about where and when he was sentenced. You can see me in the right of the photo, in the link below.

As I assume you need a court report, where the courts do not write reports on pedophile cases. However, because of the high number of victims across Australia, the Judge is going to release the judgement. However, because a co offender is before the court, the judgement has been withheld from publication. But apparently I can get a statement from the court that he was convicted, but not a full copy of the judgement for some time.

Can you please explain to me what legal documentation or references other than australian wide newspapers and tv stations which covered the court case results, do you require as proof?

Hence, I have today included a short paragraph at O'Connor Catholic College detailing the crime, the sentence, and provided references {{endash}} both of which are sourced from reputable Australian newspapers/media outlets. Hello, with the 2025 Australian Senate Election results currently being counted I am creating this template to create a new standard for Joint Tickets in the senates results. Currently they are raw modified tables in the results at the New South Wales and Victoria bits (look for the joint tickets involving HEART, People First and Libertarians), and on the pages there the 3 colours are balanced. I am trying to replicate this with the template to replace the need for modifying the table directly but it isn't working properly and I have no idea how to get the 3 colours to balance. The documentation provides an example from the NSW results of that election. Any tips or help on how I can get these colours to be balanced? Where can I find a reference on list grammar for wikipedia? In English, it is common to find 'lists', or a collection of like items. For instance, the following is a list of words commonly associated with baseball: bat, ball, glove, white, base, mound.

Native English speakers will choke on one of those words because we intuitively expect a list to be comprised of one 'type' of word. It will either be all nouns, or all verbs, or similar. In this case 5 of the 6 words are nouns, while one is an adjective. While most balls and bases are white, 'white' is not usually listed as something you need to play the game.

Does Wikipedia have written guidance on how to build a list that makes sense? I'd like to rewrite a section of an article to normalize a particular list, and it would be nice if I could point at a policy article. SandyJax (talk) 13:50, 11 May 2025 (UTC)

a strange phrase appears while placing a cursor on the Thai national basketball team page. Instead of a common page preview, (supposed to contain a beginning of an article), a plain text "weenie lover" is shown - and nothing else. The page links functions normally, and the page itself appears to be normal as well.

I was logged in and working on my draft. I published it a bunch of times while working because I didn’t want to lose my work. When I finished, I clicked the back button. It said “are you sure you don’t want to publish and save your work” but I’d already published so I clicked no. But when I went back then like none of the stuff I had published saved??? The last publish shown was from like 2 hours ago but I swear I had published it a bunch of times since. 2 hours of work down the drain I swear 😭 any way to get it back? Dangit, I'm tired of websites stomping on my accounts. I had one here, but it says my password is incorrect when it's not. My browser remembers all of them. So, you either deleted my password, or my account altogether. I have no idea which email was last used when I logged in, because only my username is listed. I doubt it's the one Microsoft deleted when I didn't understand OneDrive some years ago, and I can't click on forgot password for that email address anyway. I would like to cite [https://data.humdata.org/dataset/pakistan-settlement this] data. however, in order to get to the data, you would need to download the zip file, extract it, locate the DBF file (which I doubt most people are familiar with), and open in excel or other supporting app. The website itself also holds the data I am looking for but it would be impossible to look for the right dot on the map (see site to understand). The colorful and interesting geological map of Michigan Basin (here) does not have a legend indicating the meaning of the colors, without which it is not much more than a pretty picture.

Hi, there is an article about the region of "Angeln" in Germany. It is one of the regions from where the Anglo-Saxons moved to Britain, and it is the ultimate root of the word "English" and "England". I tried to expand the article several times, but there is one user, namely {{Ping|Zacwill}}, who keeps deleting everything I write. On 14 June 2024, they deleted all my expansions. Please compare the versions of June 14, 2024, 18:02, and June 15, 2024, 01:35. When I tried to discuss every single topic individually on the talk page with them, they had no convincing arguments for their deletions, apart from that they don't think that it adds anything to the article. They also came up with the argument, that it is not sourced. But they also delete things which obviously don't have to be sourced, like the "infobox settlement". After a while, they did not respond on the talk page anymore. I thought it was because they really don't have any arguments, and began to add content again today. Only after a few minutes, they again deleted everything I added, but still didn't reply on the talk page. It comes across as destructive editing to delete everything that someone adds, instead of trying to add sources. I would need a third party to try to solve this dispute. That user is the only one, who opposes and constantly deletes my expansions, and I have the feeling that they are not neutral and want to keep the article about Angeln as small, unimportant and ugly as possible. I have been trying to update the page to reflect the true history of insulated concrete forms. I do mention the company with the original patent (which happens to be our company), but it is not advertising or soapboxing. It is providing the facts. In the same article there is a reference to a foam patent by BASF which is also a company with patent.

Mr. Ollie keeps removing my edit referencing our patents, but leaves the reference to BASF. He also keeps in references to Werner Gregory, but removes the names of individuals that I provide.

We aren't saying we're better or that "Hey look at us". Just proud of our history which is factual and information related regarding patents.

+ EDIT: I found an image that I had used on the original page when I created it. The table of television credits in Arlene Martel, however, is clearly not intended to be exhaustive, so the omission of this one, as well as a number of others, is not particularly remarkable. Hi all,

I added a cite to Panzer I#Sources, and on opening the edit window I was greeted with "Script warning: One or more {{tl|cite book}} templates have errors;" etc.; but there were no usual red messages relating to any specific cite. I have the "display Citation Style 1 maintenance messages" script installed in my common.css. I went through every cite and attempted to fix the obvious errors & omissions, but still the message persists. If I temporarily introduce a deliberate error, the "Script warning" message gets duplicated (ie there are two of them in the orange header), and the usual red (or green) message is displayed beside the offending entry, as expected.

Amazon says[https://www.amazon.co.uk/Lost-Victories-Brilliant-Military-Classics/dp/0760320543] that the supposed isbn number is in fact an asin, and gives the isbn nos. for the re-published date of 2004. I'll stick in a |orig-date ... Lol, the book isn't actually cited in the refs of the Panzer I article ... An (ahem) 'unauthorised' copy of the book doesn't even mention Panzer I or any other specific tank. I think it's probably best to delete the entire {cite book} entry.
