Mystic7 & Trainer Tips
|Pokemon-themes content creators
|Feb 19, 2019
|On Sunday, two of Pokémon Go’s biggest personalities woke up to find their YouTube channels gone. Both Brandon “Mystic7” Martyn and Nick Oyzon of Trainer Tips received content strikes from the platform due to what YouTube called “sexual content,” a violation that resulted in the termination of their accounts. Neither channel contained sexual content, and both were quickly returned to service. Not only did YouTube claim that Martyn’s videos included “nudity or sexually provocative content,” but also that the offending content explicitly involved minors. Neither statement was true. Each of the videos involved included the term “CP” in the title. While CP is a common term in the Pokémon Go community, referring to a Pokémon’s “combat power,” it has a completely different meaning in other circles. CP is a common shorthand for “child pornography,” which YouTube has working to stop from spreading across the platform with its algorithmic reporting systems. The changes have been in the making since disturbing events like a YouTuber’s arrest on child pornography charges in 2017[https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/true-crime/wp/2017/06/14/how-feds-say-a-youtube-star-got-young-fans-to-make-child-porn/?utm_term=.ef8e0c5704ff] and the widely reported, seedy underbelly of kids’ YouTube content overall.[{{cite web | url=https://mashable.com/article/youtube-wakeup-child-exploitation-explained | title=YouTube's pedophilia problem: More than 400 channels deleted as advertisers flee over child predators | website=Mashable | date=22 February 2019 }}] In a video postmortem uploaded after his channel was reinstated, Oyzon called out YouTube for how the reporting algorithm lacks context. He described it as a machine-learned security system that needs better controls. |

{{Ill|Reeflay|lt=ReeFlay|ru|Reeflay}}
|Russian former YouTuber, trash streamer and gaming creator
|Dec 3, 2020
|On December 2, 2020, Stas was live streaming alongside his girlfriend, Valentina, and his friend, Marina. At the beginning of the live stream, they're seen drinking heavily while listening to music. Supposedly, a chat member donated $1,000 and wanted Stas to beat up Valentina and lock her outside. Stas and Marina attempted to bring Valentina outside, though Valentina would begin to argue with Stas while threatening him with a knife. While unseen during the stream, he reportedly slammed her to the ground to which he stripped her down to her underwear, pour cold water on her before eventually forcing her outside in the cold. The temperature that night was from -3° to -8 °C (17° to 26 °F).He was later arrested and his recent channel, "ReeFlay СТРИМЫ КАЗИНО" would be terminated on December 3, 2020. While Stas originally said he'd shown sympathy towards her death and saying he didn't mean to kill her, he would then claim that she had an intestinal problem and would cause the apartment to stink and she was a prostitute and was on drugs, saying she would have died regardless. Valentina was also allegedly pregnant at the time of her death, though the rumors were later proven false. In April 2021, Stas was charged with involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to six years of maximum security prison. The news was heavily covered and would heavily call out Stas' actions, leading the government to investigate "trash streamers" after the incident.[{{Cite web |last=Asarch |first=Steven |title=A Russian streamer whose girlfriend died after being locked in the cold during his livestream was sentenced to 6 years in prison, according to reports |url=https://www.businessinsider.com/reeflay-stas-russian-streamer-girlfriend-died-livestream-death-2021-4 |access-date=2024-11-13 |website=Business Insider |language=en-US}}] |
