Mike Comrie

Hello. I removed a number of items from the Mike Comrie article based on a number of concerns. The part about Comrie being booed read like it was from personal experience of the author, which I now see was you. For information about why this is not good, please read the policy regarding no original research or the policy what Wikipedia is not. I also felt that this was relatively unimportant information for an encyclopedic article. Just think off all the NHL players that have ever been booed at any time in their careers. Would we put this information in each one of thier articles? The last reason, was that there was a hint of it being against our NPOV policy. -- JamesTeterenko 21:58, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Batista vs. Henry

::See the thing is that while you saw it, the rest of the country didn't. WWE deliberately releases its commercials and promos on future events, spoiling the outcomes of matches and whatnot, to the local media. This is stupidly done to attract the interest of fans in that local area. The same thing happened with the Vengeance DX promo. That promo spoiled the return of the DX at Vengeance as it was released roughly 2 months before Vengeance. Another thing is Wikipedia Policy which forbids the addition of spoilers as [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Wikipedia_is_not_a_crystal_ball Wikipedia is not a crystal ball]. Jeff Hardy

There is a chance Jeff could go to ECW or Smackdown, but nothing is set yet. WWE.com not updating doesn't mean much. Sometimes they update things, while other times they don't. Lita is quitting WWE, stop deleting my sourced information!

It's 100% confirmed by Dave Meltzer, who writes the Wrestling Observer newsletter, the most trusted news source in all of wrestling.

The news in the link I provided to LordsofPain.net is from Meltzer's newsletter. Dave posts some updates on his website (wrestlingobserver.com) but most of the inside stuff is only in his print newsletter and that's where LoP.net got it from. To get the news straight from Meltzer's site, go this link[http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/wo/news/features/default.asp?aID=17038&OP=anyWords&SF=Lita] I provided, and press "Ctrl" and F on your keyboard, type Lita and you'll see where Dave mentioned she is leaving.

When you said "PWI", do you mean the magazine Pro Wrestling Illustrated or website Pro Wrestling Insider? Neither one is really considered reliable (especially the magazine), and PW Insider

mostly uses second hand information they got from the Observer Newsletter and Pro Wrestling Torch.

If you don't think Meltzer or the Torch are reliable, just read Mick Foley's books as he mentions them both and even used Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer as a source for his book Foley is Good. Do you work for PWI or something?

Please stop deleting the information I added, because it's 100% confirmed. I had trouble with people deleting the same sourced info for Trish Stratus and I was totally vindicated when it was mentioned on WWE.com and Raw yesterday, and I'm right about this too, so please don't delete it anymore.

If you took the image yourself, then say "I took this image myself" or something of the sorts. There also is not a license specified on the page. If you did take the image yourself, you then need to specify what license you wish to release the image under. I recommend {{tl|cc-sa}}, but there are many others you could use and it it your choice. However, in order to remain on Wikipedia, the image must be released freely, under the GDFL. If you wish to maintain copyright, then the image cannot stay. ::Down at the bottom of the page you can see it says "(c)2004 Dan Knott School All rights reserved" which means the image shouldn't be on Wikipedia. It seems you have an interest in this school, so you could take a picture yourself and upload it to Wikipedia (though Commons is preferred) and then include that image in the article. Also, attempting to use it under fair use is not acceptable since it would be easily replaceable. I request you put {{tl|db-author}} on this image and remove it from the articles it is on. Once you upload the image you take (if you do) you can then use the same name and re-install it into the articles. If you do not do so, I will list it under the Wikipedia:Copyright problems section and it will most likely be deleted shortly. It should be noted that some big names will not be wrestling at WrestleMania. Unless there is a Royal Rumble like in years past stars like Carlito, Rick Flair, Chavo Guerrero (the cruserweight champion, Bob Holly, and Chris Masters among others will not be wrestling at WrestleMania 23.

well it is actually notable, when you dont have a 16 time champ wrestling in the biggest event and people that have been getting big pushes not being in the biggest event of the year...Can you explain how that is not botable and I will leave the page be...

Lilian Ellison (known as The Fabulous Moolah) passed away November 2 2007 at age 84.
Chris Mordetsky and Harry Smith (known as Chris Masters and D.H. Smith, respectively) were suspended from World Wrestling Entertainment as of November 2 2007 for Wellness Policy violations. Mordetsky was released from his contract six says later.

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter! I hope this will be a good source of news to those people interested in what's happening around our pro wrestlimg community. I plan to release it every Sunday.

This newsletter will just be a way to get the community announcements to people who don't have the time to check the mesageboards, as well that to those just curious about the news. The newsleter will consist of a project news section (to do with what's happening on Wikipedia), and a current events section (relating to news in the "real world"). The newslette will also contain the Collaboration of the Week announcement.

Matt Hardy suffered from an inflamed appendix, rendering him unable to wrestle at Survivor Series and possibly for 8-10 weeks.

The WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter is starting up an interview segment that has been in the works for some time now. The current schedule for interviews can be seen here. If you would like to submit a question for an interviewee, please do so by following the instructions here. We are accepting questions for any future interviews. If you would like to sign up to be interviewed, then you may do so here. We hope that this segment will be one of the most popular this project's newsletter has to offer, and promote a greater sense of community amongst the project members. The first interview will be published in next week's issue, and will be with TJ Spyke.

On the December 17 edition of Raw, it was announced that former WWE superstar John "Bradshaw" Layfield has decided to return to the ring on the Raw brand. It is unknown if he will continue to color commentate on SmackDown!.
Former WWE and TNA wrestler Andrew "Test" Martin has announced his plans to retire from professional wrestling.

Several wrestling news sites report that former Total Nonstop Action Wrestling stars Ron Killings and Chris Harris have been in talks with WWE. In addition The Big Show is said to be returning as well. Be on the look out for unsourced claims of these signing being added to their respective articles as well as the WWE Roster article.
As of January 7, deturning Smackdown! Diva, Ashley Massaro has been drafted to the Raw brand.

Former TNA professional wrestler Chris Harris has officially signed with World Wrestling Entertainment as confirmed by himself in his personal website.
Ron Killings and The Big Show are still being reported as to having signed WWE contracts. As there is no reliable source for anything of the sort, be prepared for their names to be continually added to the WWE Roster article and information about their returns being added to their own articles. There is also apparently an audio interview with Killings where he states he will be returning to WWE with his old K-Kwik gimmick.
Bobby Lashley is being reported to have been released by WWE. His profile has been removed from WWE.com. But again, there is no reliable source for his release, so be prepared to revert his removal from the roster article and edits to his own article.

Oilers ownership

Please stop changing the infobox. That Lowe has to get approval from Katz (and EIG) to make his moves is because the ownership of the team is in flux, not because it has completed the change. It is blatantly untrue to state that Katz is the owner of the team at this time, because he has not been confirmed as such by the NHL Board of Governors. That is why the infobox says that a sale is pending to Katz. Until this step is complete, the formal owner of the Edmonton Oilers is EIG. Until the BOG vote, Katz is not the owner, he merely has an agreement to purchase the team. There is a significant difference between these two statements. :"All intents and purposes" is not fact, and rather is blatantly POV. The BOG vote is just a formality, I agree, but that does not mean that Katz will be confirmed as the owner of the team until the vote is complete. Wikipedia deals in verifiable truth, not "well, it's going to happen, so lets change it now." And my location is completely irrelevant. Personally, I think the sale to Katz will be a very good thing for the Oilers, as EIG has been a decidedly mediocre owner of that franchise. ::I don't disagree that it is guaranteed to happen, but the Edmonton media reporting it as a fait acompli doesn't make it done. I had to protect the Johan Santana article last week for much the same reason - everyone knew he was going to be a New York Met in a matter of days, but until the deal was actually signed off on by the league, he was still formally a Twin. Much like the BOG vote, the updating of this article should wait until the sale is complete. There is no harm in the current statement - that EIG still formally owns the team, with a sale to Katz pending league approval. Reso lute 06:40, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Current Events

Jeff Hardy was suspended by WWE for 60 days on March 11 for violating WWE's Substance Abuse and Drug Policy. On March 14, he lost his home in, Cameron, North Carolina, late friday night due to a fire. Fire Department officials currently cannot confirm what was the cause of the fire. Reports also say that Jeff's brother, Matt Hardy, saw smoke coming out of Jeff's house. RAW Commentator, Jim Ross, reports on his blog, "He lost essentially every thing he had and most sadly his dog".
On March 14, Vince McMahon was honored into the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Triple H: King of Kings-There is Only One, a WWE Home Video DVD, will be released on March 25 2008.

why

Current Events

At WrestleMania XXIV, Shawn Michaels defeated Ric Flair after executing the Sweet Chin Music, which as a result, meant that Ric Flair was forced to retire from professional wrestling. The next night, at Flair's retirement ceremony on Raw, Triple H congratulated Flair for his 35 year career, and brought out retired and current superstars to thank him. Michaels, and the whole WWE roster came out later to thank him as well.
The Undertaker defeated Edge to become the new World Heavyweight Champion forcing him to submit to the Gogoplata. During the pyro celebration for Undertaker's 16-0 streak, a freak accident occurred just before WrestleMania went off-air. During the pryo shooting to the entrance stage, a firework went to the upper-level section of the crowd on top. Forty-five fans were injured, and currently, WWE is trying to investigate what was the cause of the pyrotechnic malfunction
Cryme Tyme returned to WWE on March 31, during Raw, defeating Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch.

TNA NWA title controversy

I can explain. The reason as to why former NWA champions in TNA are usually also called former TNA champions isn't necessarily because TNA considers NWA title reigns as part of the TNA title's history. Its actually because they held the NWA title within TNA. It’s the same reason as to why Randy Orton is sometimes called the youngest WWE champion in the history of the company even though he became the youngest champion with the World Heavyweight title and not the WWE title. It’s just a much easier way for both companies to add some relevance to certain reigns in current events than to go into a more complex explanation for fans to understand. -- bulletproof ^3:16 04:35, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

The Month in Wrestling History June 1, 1998 - Junkyard Dog died at the age of forty-five in an automobile accident. June 2, 2003 - Freddie Blassie died at the age of eighty-five from natural causes. June 10, 1983 - Harley Race defeated Ric Flair for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. June 13, 1982- "High Chief" Peter Maivia died of cancer at forty-seven. June 13, 1993 - Yokozuna defeated Hulk Hogan for the WWF Heavyweight title. June 19 2002 - AJ Styles became the first TNA X Division Champion. James Yun was suspended for 30 days for violating WWE's Wellness Policy.

Vince McMahon was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Promax|BDA Conference for "for his remarkable accomplishments and innovations in global marketing, advertising and promotion."

WWE is currently holding "Million Dollar Mania", where they give out prize money totalling $1 million on Raw to viewers watching the show at home.

Kofi Kingston won the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Cody Rhodes turned on Hardcore Holly to capture the World Tag Team Championship with Ted DiBiase.
On June 30, CM Punk won the World Heavyweight Championship on Raw.
Trevor Murdoch was released from WWE on July 3.

The Month in Wrestling History

June 24, 2001 - Edge defeated Kurt Angle in the finals of the 2001 King of the Ring.
June 26, 1992 - Buddy Rogers died of a stroke at age 71.
June 28, 1999 - Steve Austin defeated The Undertaker for the WWF Heavyweight title.
July 2, 1969 - "Iron" Mike DiBiase died of a heart attack in the ring.
July 3, 2001 - AJ Styles and Jerry Lynn become the first NWA World Tag Team Champions under the ownership of TNA, via winning a tournament final.

As I'm sure you noticed above, this is the 20th edition of the WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter! It has come a long way since the first issue, and I'm sure it will only improve from here. I'd like to thank everyone reading this for continuing to read the newsletter, biweekly.

I'd like to especially thank those who have helped to get the newsletter to it's 20th edition; The Hybrid, The Chronic, TJ Spyke, Alex Roggio, LAX, ThinkBlue, Nikki311, GaryColemanFan, Gavyn Sykes, D.M.N., Naha, NiciVampireHeart, SRX, Zenlax and, RkOrton.
