Orphaned non-free image (Image:CKCK-TV.jpg)

Thanks for uploading :Image:CKCK-TV.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:52, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for [[:Image:MCTV.jpg]]

Image:Nuvola apps important.svg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to :Image:MCTV.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:24, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Kardashev Scale

Hi, recently the Kardashev scale entry has gone through some major reverts, I'd like to talk about the reinstatement of the material. I've looked around and have seen that you've made some major contributions to the article and are interested in it's progress. I feel we need to talk about the reverts and reinstatement and talk about whether either are justified. Talk:Kardashev scale If you could help or add your two cents I'd really appreciate it. Orphaned non-free media (Image:KVZK-2.gif)

25px Thanks for uploading :Image:KVZK-2.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:21, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Naclogo.gif

Thank you for uploading :Image:Naclogo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:42, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Saskatchewan adopted the International metric system in 1971, and even though school trustees would like the imperial system returned to the [http://www.cbc.ca/news/story/2000/11/30/metric001130.html classrooms], there is a new change intended for Saskatchewan. WikiProject Saskatchewan Communities & Neighbourhoods has undergone a new facelift and revamping just in time to putter away at new civic articles on the August civic holiday, the first Monday of August. Drop by and see the new colour scheme which corresponds the the provincial colours. The assessment department provides quality ratings to articles via the talk page. At the current moment the assessment department combines the communities project with the province on the Canada talk page bannerr. There is a request out to make an assessment table from the parent talk page banner or if a new banner is advised. The challenge has been met! User:CBM figured out the coding necessary! A number of various editors and administrators puttered at applying the code, and it works!! Thank you very much.

    • Version 0.7 Saskatchewan articles
    • :

Wikipedia 0.7 is a collection of English Wikipedia articles due to be released on DVD, and available for free download, later this year. The Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team has made an [http://toolserver.org/~cbm/release-data/2008-9-13/HTML/ automated selection of articles for Version 0.7].

We would like to ask you to review the [http://toolserver.org/~cbm/release-data/2008-9-13/HTML/Saskatchewan.s0.html articles selected from this project]. These were chosen from the articles with this project's talk page tag, based on the rated importance and quality. If there are any specific articles that should be removed, please let us know at Wikipedia talk:Version 0.7. You can also nominate additional articles for release, following the procedure at Wikipedia:Release Version Nominations.

A [http://toolserver.org/~cbm/cgi-bin/problems.cgi list of selected articles with cleanup tags], sorted by project, is available. The list is automatically updated each hour when it is loaded. Please try to fix any urgent problems in the selected articles. A team of copyeditors has agreed to help with copyediting requests, although you should try to fix simple issues on your own if possible.

We would also appreciate your help in identifying the version of each article that you think we should use, to help avoid vandalism or POV issues. These versions can be recorded at this project's subpage of User:SelectionBot/0.7. We are planning to release the selection for the holiday season, so we ask you to select the revisions before October 20. At that time, we will use an automatic process to identify which version of each article to release, if no version has been manually selected. Thanks! Given that a road will have numerous coordinates, what sort of coordinates should be defined for Canadian road articles, if any? Terminus points, perhaps control cities would be obvious candidates. Proposed deletion of K34HI

    Image:Ambox warning yellow.svg

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article K34HI, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{tl|dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. • Saskatchewan photographs
    • :*when you are traveling or looking through old pictures, if there are any of Saskatchewan roads, highways or Saskatchewan highway signs that you would wish to upload to wikimedia commons, it would be appreciated. It would be good to show our highways in various seasons as well as with various geographical terrains. Of especial import when getting involved with photographing highways are junctions, scenic points of interest, historical markers, intersections, divided highways, road crews, historical road crews, historical travel on highways, overpasses, underpasses and road signs showing concurrencies between various highways.
    • :*Besides the above photographs, there are also these articles lacking images Wikipedia requested photographs in Saskatchewan

    • Saskatchewan B Class articles and Importance ratings
    • :An opportunity to Be bold and find out what is required to raise an aritlce past B class into GA or FA. Some information is included below about how to raise an article to B-class
    • This is an article written about the wikipedia assessment process [http://www.searchenginejournal.com/wikipedia-article-quality-assessment-and-ranking-tips-for-users-and-search-engine-engineers/6002/ Wikipedia Article Quality Assessment and Ranking Tips for Users and Search Engine Engineers]. The video game wikiproject reviewed what enabled a topic to be classifed and ranked as important within the scope of their wikiproject and was reviewed in their Newsletter
    • For B-class articles the pre-requisites have been posted also at a few wikiprojects for the minimums required for B-class before advancing on to GA. Some wikiprojects offering B class outlines are Military History FAQ, Ships WP FAQ and WP UK roads The criteria for B-Class have been tightened up with the addition of a rubric, and are now more in line with the stricter standards already used at some projects.
    • The new C-Class represents articles that are beyond the basic Start-Class, but which need additional references or cleanup to meet the standards for B-Class.
    • A-Class article reviews will now need more than one person, as described here.

    • Welcome
    • We’re excited to announce that User:Presidentman has joined WikiProject Saskatchewan as our Editor in Chief. Presidentman will oversee editorial content and the Saskatchewan Wikiproject community contributions on the Wikiproject newsletter. Presidentman has also successfully developed the Picture of the Day project and has been active on wikipedia for close to three years in a plethora of projects enriching wikipedia with close to 3,000 contributions. The transition between our old editor and the new has been smoother than any of us could have hoped for — SriMesh wrote their last newsletter article for January, 2010, and Presidentman started up without missing a beat for February 2010. The previous years for SriMesh, the past editor, had been richly rewarding, seeing subscriptions grow, informing interested editors of developments and changes to the Saskatchewan wikipedia community and supporting activities on the Saskatchewan Wikiproject. It is now time for me to move to new writing projects to finish, and further responsibilities which are vying for my attention. Please join me in welcoming Presidentman to the their new position! Presidentman is working on a host of new features and an updated look, which will take things to a new level. It is wonderful to have a new editor to bring in the new year! Expect great things.

A tag has been placed on :Jet2.net requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
