Uncasville, Connecticut
For your information I have re-redirected Uncasville, Connecticut to Montville, Connecticut. Information and history about Uncasville is found under the latter and not in the Oxoboxo River article. In the future please discuss any proposed changes that you wish to make in the appropriate talk page. TheGoofyGolfer (talk) 02:53, 8 June 2011 (UTC)
:I have started working on the articles related to Uncasville and Oxoboxo River, and I expect to "fix" the situation soon. --Orlady (talk) 20:18, 9 June 2011 (UTC)
::I created Uncasville, Connecticut as a distinct article. With almost 300 backlinks to that article title, I thought that it needed to be a separate article. --Orlady (talk) 03:46, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Native American archaeology in Connecticut
Polaron, I think you might be interested in [http://www.nae.usace.army.mil/projects/ri/LISDMMP/Reports/CulturalInventoryVolI_FinalReport.pdf this report] that I ran across. It has some nice short summaries of different cultural periods in coastal Connecticut. --Orlady (talk) 20:18, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Cities proper
Hi, greetings! About the page List of cities proper by population I just wanted to tell you that the last population you put as of 2010 is metropolitan and you know no metropolitan areas are suitable for city proper. The modified registred-based estimation counts the metropolitan areas of the administrative centers which is all cities and towns in the entire provinces except villages and this population is actually the population of the province without the villages. You can check in the site of the Statistical Institute and if you compare the 2000 data of citypopulation.de: Province - 10,018,735 ; City - 8,803,468 and 2010: Province - 13,255,685, City - 12,946,730 you see the difference between city and province in 2010 is negligible. Pensionero (UTC)
:Currently the administrative city encompasses most of the province except for a handful of cities. Aside from the population growth, the city boundaries were also enlarged, and this is why the province and administrative city limits are now almost the same. In fact, according to the [http://www.ibb.gov.tr/en-US/Organization/MunicipalHistory/Pages/AnaSayfa.aspx Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality website] (see last 2 paragraphs), the administrative city is now identical to the province. --Polaron | Talk 17:22, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Please, clarify the source on male/female Life expectancy break-down
Dear Polaron, would you like to presise where from did you take data for making a break-down for Life Expectancy in the article List_of_countries_by_life_expectancy. The reference to "United Nations World Population Prospects: 2006 revision – Table A.17 for 2005-2010" leads us only to the average Life expectacy between male and female. I would be grateful to you if you found the initial source. Front315 (talk) 10:19, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Rochambeau march route historic sites
I restored March Route of Rochambeau's Army: Old Canterbury Road, an article which you have a couple times obliterated by redirecting, in what appears to be a low-grade edit war. This article is linked now from Plainfield, Connecticut, National Register of Historic Places listings in Windham County, Connecticut and from Washington–Rochambeau Revolutionary Route (and also from User talk:Polaron/Archive1 ).
You've noted in edit summaries that the site is "described" in the Rochambeau route article, but brief mention in the text there is immaterial to whether an article about the historic site in Plainfield can exist. It's a notable topic; there is a linked NRHP document and a map in the article already, which were obliterated for readers by your redirects. There's a whole lot more detail that can be added. I will proceed to develop the article. I suggest if you disagree, that you open an AFD about the article, which could conceivably result in it being redirected. But I expect the consensus of editors will be that the article is obviously notable and it will be kept. Or, we could have an RFC about the question, to attract other editors.
As you know, there are 4 more similar articles, which I also intend to restore:
- March Route of Rochambeau's Army: Manship Road-Barstow Road
- March Route of Rochambeau's Army: Palmer Road
- March Route of Rochambeau's Army: Plainfield Pike
- March Route of Rochambeau's Army: Scotland Road
Please discuss here or at the Talk page of the article, okay? If you are not inclined to agree with me, please state how you intend to proceed. I will assist in opening an RFC if you wish for that, to obtain wider consensus. I hope it will not be your intention to proceed by redirecting. Redirecting is obviously disputed by me. --doncram 18:02, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
P.S. If your point is that those specific articles should have been better developed, I could accept that. Am developing them. However they already included info, including clickable individual reference with photos of site for readers, that are not in your merger target article. I seriously don't understand why you would target those 5 out of the 28 historic sites linked from the Rochambeau route article (and now included in :Category:Rochambeau route which might soon be renamed). --doncram 04:03, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
:Okay, I see you chose not to discuss but rather to act by making multiple obtuse redirects again. Can you please explain how on earth you think this improves wikipedia, to lose good information in the articles you have now redirected? --doncram 02:48, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
::This improves Wikipedia by consolidating multiple things that are fundamentally the same and have very limited unique descriptions into one accessible article. All useful information has been retained so no good information has been lost. --Polaron | Talk 02:51, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
:::Whatever your idea, your proceeding unilaterally to try to implement something is not good, hence the current edit warring noticeboard. I personally am interested in these historic sites and have devoted some time to developing materials about them. What do you think, your obliterating a bunch of articles is gonna be happily accepted. Your bland assurance that nothing is lost is not true; specifically you lost geographic code information and NRHP infoboxes and you disconnected a bunch of inbound links from Connecticut town and village articles and NRHP list-articles. Even without my checking to see whether you lost more basic text and references. I am not completely opposed to some other arrangement being set up, but your proceeding by non-consensus contested redirect/deletes is not winning me over. --doncram 03:28, 20 December 2011 (UTC)
::::Again, nothing substantial has been removed. All the important content and references are still there. Inbound links will be taken care of by redirects. If you want to add geo coordinates, I'll do that. --Polaron | Talk 04:58, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification
Hi. When you recently edited List of historic sites preserved along Rochambeau's route, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rochambeau (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ{{*}} Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
