{{nihongo|Wabun code|和文モールス符号|wabun mōrusu fugō|Morse code for Japanese text}} is a form of Morse code used to send Japanese language in kana characters.{{Cite news|last=Millikin|first=Donald|date=September 1942|title=The Japanese Morse Telegraph Code|language=en|volume=XXVI|work=QST|publisher=American Radio Relay League|issue=9|url=https://www.rfcafe.com/references/qst/japanese-morse-telegraph-code-sep-1942-qst.htm|access-date=2022-02-03}} Unlike International Morse Code, which represents letters of the Latin script, in Wabun each symbol represents a Japanese kana.{{Cite journal|last=Japanese Government|title=Radio Station Operation Regulations, Article 12, Attached Table No. 1, Morse Code|url=https://elaws.e-gov.go.jp/data/325M50080000017_20200622_502M60000008061/pict/S25F30901000017-001.pdf|journal=1945 Radio Regulatory Commission Rule No. 17|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20220129114408/https://elaws.e-gov.go.jp/data/325M50080000017_20200622_502M60000008061/pict/S25F30901000017-001.pdf|archive-date=29 January 2022|via=|access-date=3 February 2022|url-status=dead}} For this reason, Wabun code is also sometimes called Kana code.{{Cite web|last=Supplied|date=2015-07-10|title=Chart of Kana morse signals|url=https://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/breakfast/chart-of-kana-morse-signals/6609748|access-date=2022-02-03|website=ABC Radio National|language=en|url-status=dead|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20220203143218/https://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/breakfast/chart-of-kana-morse-signals/6609748|archive-date=3 February 2022}}
When Wabun code is intermixed with International Morse code, the prosign DO ({{morse|dash|dot|dot|dash|dash|dash}}) is used to announce the beginning of Wabun, and the prosign SN ({{morse|dot|dot|dot|dash|dot}}) is used to announce the return to International Code.
