I didn't create the article - I declined the speedy nom and prod'ed it, which is the appropriate avenue. G3 is not an appropriate criterion either. Regards, Acroterion (talk) 19:24, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

TW warnings
It is usual to escalate the warnings. See "User talk:Massa174788", who already had a final warning. The next step was to report him to administrators. Snowman (talk) 18:26, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
:Fair point. I tend to just count the number of warnings and put in the next one (although, I confess to miscounting in this case). I hadn't noticed that his first warning was a "level 3". Lordjeff06 (talk) 18:30, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
::I sometimes rapidly advance the warnings when the vand is blatant, often going straight to a 2nd level warning, which does not have the "welcome" text. This persons vand was bad and doubly bad because he was writing on articles on living people, so the someone made the first warning a level 3. Snowman (talk) 18:38, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
:::Which is all well and appropriate, although I don't think any of the warnings had been made by you. All I'm saying is that, while I appreciated your comment, I didn't intentionally not escalate the warnings; I just didn't read so good. Lordjeff06 (talk) 18:39, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
::::I did my part and I reported it, as he already had a final warning. Snowman (talk) 18:41, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

What does the tag mean? He qualified for the Olympics by beating the PanAm champ.German.Knowitall (talk) 17:48, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
see John Jackson (your discussion page)German.Knowitall (talk) 17:50, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
: It was just that I was skeptical of the notability of an article about an amateur athlete who had no real secondary source citations and was a future (as opposed to actual) Olympic athlete. I don't pretend to know anything about boxing, so I tossed the tag on there so that someone who knew more about these things might take a look. Lordjeff06 (talk) 21:24, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
:: I had a look and he has represented his country in boxing and also qualified for the Beijing Olympics so I think that is notable. Is that OK? thank you.--Gueracuco (talk) 09:51, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Tomfoolery at [[The Weber Brothers]]
Just FYI, the creator and an anonymous IP have been removing tags from this article that you recently tagged for speedy. I'm not entirely sure it's an A7, but it does look and feel awfully promotional and fishy. Happy to take it to AfD maybe if you still think it's deletable? Lankiveil (speak to me) 13:45, 25 March 2008 (UTC).
:Strange, I was about to leave you a message at the same time asking if yours was a reaction to mine or what =). AfD sounds good (hell, I won't interfere with another speedy, although you'd have to watch the article to make sure the tag didn't mysteriously vanish), and I concur that it looks non-notable. Lankiveil (speak to me) 13:52, 25 March 2008 (UTC).
::Nice work. If it's still around tomorrow morning when I wake up, I'll check to see if it's still about, and if so I'll make sure it's been fixed up and un-copyvioed. Lankiveil (speak to me) 13:58, 25 March 2008 (UTC).

Admin coaching request status

|You have expressed interest in undergoing the Admin coaching program. However, after reviewing your edit history, I feel you may need more experience editing (i.e., >1,750 edits & 4 months of activity) on Wikipedia before you can know for certain your ready to begin the process of becoming an administrator. Therefore, at this time, your application for Admin Coaching has been declined. My suggestion would be to seek adoption from a more experienced user who can help you experience all of the various components of editing an encyclopedia. If you decide adoption is not for you, there is also the editor review process that may help you find areas to improve upon in our editing. If you would like to talk more about this, please feel free to leave me a note at my talk page. Malinaccier (talk) 23:20, 6 June 2008 (UTC) |
I looked through your last 500 edits and would like to give you a more personalized suggestion. I would advise you to focus more on article creation, expansion, and upkeep. Many RFA contributors look for this in a potential admin. Happy editing, Malinaccier (talk) 23:20, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

What nonconstructive edit?
If you are talking about Mein Kampf, then, with all due respect, What the fuck? I simply changed Hitler's nationality from "German" to "Austrian born" because HE WAS AUSTRIAN BORN. Check a goddamn history book if you don't believe me. I mean how old are you, twelve? You really believe Hitler was german? Please go back to middle school immediately. Soberreh (talk) 11:17, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
: I grant you that Hitler was Austrian born. However, you changed the article from saying that he was "Austrian-born" to that he was "Australian-born." Just because you had a plausible edit summary does not make your edit any less nonconstructive. JEB90 (talk) 11:36, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
:: Ah, thank you, I just noticed my edits said "australian". Sorry for that and for my previous comment. --Soberreh (talk) 11:48, 19 August 2008 (UTC)

Have time on Saturday?
I'm sorry for the last-minute notice, but on Saturday, June 8, from 3 to 6 PM, Wikimedia DC and the Cato Institute are hosting a Legislative Data Meetup. We will discuss the work done so far by WikiProject U.S. Federal Government Legislative Data to put data from Congress onto Wikipedia, as well as what more needs to be done. If you have ideas you'd like to contribute, or if you're just curious and feel like meeting up with other Wikipedians, you are welcome to come! Be sure to RSVP here if you're interested.
