Maps

Here are some in-progress maps:

File:California languages precontact.svg|This one is the "reference" map I'm using to create locator maps.

File:Cahuillia language with California inset.svg|From Cahuilla language.

File:California languages precontact multicolored.svg|Colored version of outline map of the native languages of California.

File:Calif MaiduanLanguages map.svg|SVG-ized version of a nice .gif map of Maiduan languages by User:Cyberherbalist.

=Map things to do:=

  1. Add ISO-639-3 language tags to the individual language elements in SVG files.
  2. Generate or create more locator maps. (Posted a query about how best to do this [http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2054438/suggestions-on-manipulating-an-svg-map at Stack Overflow].)
  3. Create maps that help visualize the language stocks and groups (contentious as they may be).
  4. Add labels to maps (to SVGs, so they can be translated)
