Thanks for fixing the other parts about the record in Martin Brodeur. I forgot about those. I'm glad someone realized I didn't fix them. Bsroiaadn 01:56, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Welcome!
Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can [{{SERVER}}{{localurl:Template:WPMILHIST Announcements|action=watch}} watchlist it] if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{tl|WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you [{{SERVER}}{{localurl:Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history|action=watch}} watchlist it].
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, offline publication, article improvement contests, and other tasks.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a variety of guidelines for article structure and content, template use, categorization, and other issues that you may find useful.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Carom 19:25, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Poland as a major ally
I sympathise completely with what you are saying. I dislike the distinction between major and minor, which I think is spurious, but have been over-ruled in this matter by other English Wikipedia WW2 editors. France has a lot of "fans" among editors, even though its contribution was arguably less than that of Canada or Australia, let alone Poland's heroic efforts. I have even had to fight other editors to include China as a "major ally", when the Chinese contribution was both huge and longer in years than all of the other allies! Anyway, the major allies are regarded as such because of objective criteria such as inclusion in the Big Three, the Four Policemen and the Council of Foreign Ministers. Tatars in Poland
Like Kashubes or Gorals, Tatars in Poland consider themselves to be Poles, the name is only as a reference to them as an ethnographic group. What differentiates them is their religion, in this case Islam. Norman Davies wrote about his shock that during his forst visit to NYC's Pilsudski institute, it was a Polish Tatar woman who was his tour guide. See Islam in Poland for further clarification. --Orestek 01:55, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- This is a comment off of http://www.polishforums.com/is_no_muslim_poland-6_1667_0.html- Quote . Aug 14, 06, 10:46 . #2
"Actually, there are some, very few, Muslims in Poland. In Wroclaw, where I live, there is a Muslim community house, in the north of the city, there was even a weekend of Muslim awareness open to the public.
Considering wider view, there are some Muslims in all Poland, very few, but still. There are some newcomers, but also some families living in Poland since 15th century. They speak perfect Polish and it's just religion that makes them different."
I would like to differentiate between the concept of 'Ethnic Group' and 'National Orientation'. Gorals and Kashubes are both separate ethnographic groups, yet are undoubtedly 'Polish'. Goral's origins are in Romanian Wallachia (DYK that Romanian Nationalist consider JPII one of their own? Voitila is supposedly a Romanian origin last name). Tatars are considered Poles by virtue of this fact in the same way that they identify their 'National Orientation' as Polish. Any Polish Tatar I know is insulted when you question his Polishness. Notice also that in the Polish Wikipedia article 'Tatarzy w Polsce' they are not identified as 'mniejszosci narodowe' like people of Jewish extraction in Poland but as 'mniejszosci etniczne'.

Your vote to move [[Hala Ludowa]]
Thank you for supporting the requested move of Hala Ludowa. Since in the meantime I have changed the request to rename it to Centennial Hall, could you vote again ? I know that might seem overly bureaucratic but it's better to do it this way so that the voting is not invalidated later. --Lysytalk 05:07, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
World Trade Center Tower 5
What makes you believe that a separate article is in order and that the title you have chosen is the best choice for that separate article? The text you have provided is full of the word "unofficial", leading to the conclusion that there isn't much to say about the new building at this point. Beyond that, the title chosen violates the well established name scheme for the series of buildings on this general building site. Erechtheus 02:30, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
: Fair enough. I'll wait and see if more discussion seems necessary. Erechtheus 02:36, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Discussion on Business projects organization
Thanks for your note on my talk page regarding this, I agree it would be good to work together on proposing something to the members of the current projects as the current setup is not effective. My take on it is slightly different, I feel that scope needs to be more targeted on these projects in order for them to become more effective. I see four logical areas around which projects could be organized:
- Business concepts (Board of Directors, Business Plan, SEC etc.) - what B&E is currently mainly concerned about
- Companies - as I proposed
- Economics - as is
- Finance - as is
As there is still going to be overlap between these projects we'd also want to make sure they are talking to one another and that there are guidelines in place for working together.
Business Leaders I see as a collaboration between the Biography & Companies projects, either as its own project or a task force/working group. It seems as though the Biography folks have infoboxes for many other professions, so adding one for Business Leaders should be possible.
I'm sure there are more details to work out but that is my thoughts so far. Let me know what you think. I'm also going to go ahead and start the discussion on the B&E talk page to canvas their opinion. Richc80 01:21, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Striking your vote
Hello JRWalko,
Thank you for your interest in the Wikimedia Board Election. The Election Committee regretfully informs you that your previous vote was received in error and will be struck according to the election rules, described below.
The Election Committee regretfully announces today that we will have to remove approximately 220 votes submitted. These votes were cast by people not entitled to vote. The election rules state that users must have at least 400 edits by June 1 to be eligible to vote.
The voter lists we sent to Software in the Public Interest (our third party election partner) initially were wrong, and one of your account was eventually included to our initial list. There was a bug in the edit counting program and the sent list contained every account with 201 or more edits, instead of 400 or more edits. So large numbers of people were qualified according to the software who shouldn't be. The bug has been fixed and an amended list was sent to SPI already.
Our first (and wrong) list contains 80,458 accounts as qualified. The proper number of qualified voters in the SPI list is now 52,750. As of the morning of July 4 (UTC), there are 2,773 unique voters and 220 people, including you, have voted who are not qualified based upon this identified error.
In accordance with voting regulations the Election Committee will strike those approximately 220 votes due to lack of voting eligibility. The list of struck votes is available at https://wikimedia.spi-inc.org/index.php/List_of_struck_votes.
We are aware of the possibility that some of the people affected may have other accounts with more than 400 edits, and hence may still be eligible to vote. We encourage you to consider voting again from another account, if you have one. If you have no other account eligible to vote, we hope you reach the criteria in the next Election, and expect to see your participation to the future Elections.
Your comments, questions or messages to the Committee would be appreciated, you can make them at m:Talk:Board elections/2007/en. Other language versions are available at m:Translation requests/Eleccom mail, 07-05.
Again, we would like to deeply apologize for any inconvenience.
Sincerely,
For Wikimedia Board Election Steering Committee

::Hello. Do you think we can add one of those ethnic group boxes in the European people article?? KarenAER 02:07, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

Please do not revert edits blindly. I made "some" changes, and you deleted fact tags and left large images against MoS. Please object one at a time. I have every right to make changes to any page I feel fit. - Jeeny Talk 04:27, 21 August 2007 (UTC) Also I had put fact tags, which your revert removed. It also added back unsoursed and improperly sourced material. Thanks. - Jeeny Talk 04:33, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
